In the last 150 years, many businesses have become so big that they are more powerful than most countries in the world! Many big businesses have used their power to manipulate individuals, groups, and governments. Originally, the internet created a place where people could communicate and learn free of restrictions, but big tech companies in particular have invaded people’s privacy, censored individuals, and censored information that they don’t agree with. This is a huge problem for freedom. Privacy is power, while free speech enables discussion and persuasion. They are both vital to liberty. Choose to use only the news sources, social media platforms, email providers, etc., that commit to honoring privacy and free speech.
